One of our early founders, Thomas L. DeLorme, MD, is known as the "Father of Progressive Resistance Exercise." His 1951 textbook, Progressive Resistance Exercise: Technic and Medical Application is the original handbook for PT and its foundational principles are followed by today's practitioners in both the field of physical rehab medicine and weight lifting. Elgin continues to this day to fabricate and assemble almost all of its products right here in the U.S.A., thereby assuring superior materials and quality control.
